We are looking to appoint an English and Maths Learning Assistant to join our Student Services SEND support. This is a permanent term time position (36 weeks per year) working 18.5 hours per week.
Within the role you will support students who have been identified as being in need of additional learning support to improve their English, Maths and Study Skills across the Group. This will be in classrooms, workshops and in one-to-one situations, and is likely to include working with 14-16 year old students. You may also work with both HE and FE students.
Addressing English, Maths and Study skills needs of the students to enable them to cope with the demands of their course, you will administer initial assessment and dyslexia screening tests if required.
We are looking for someone who has a Level 2 in Maths and English, is ICT competent and has a qualification in Supporting Students, or is willing to work towards this. With previous experience of supporting learning in an educational environment, you will be able to support students of various ages and abilities on a range of mainstream courses.
